Another Afternoon...

Kaylee is napping, after playing in her bed for a good half hour. I am so thankful she took us seriously when we switched her to a toddler bed and told her "you need to stay in your bed until Mommy or Daddy come get you out". She never gets out of bed, not even when she is awake an hour before me in the morning and I'm too conked out to hear her. Laurelei is sleeping in her swing, and Dale is sleeping as well. He worked last night, and then had class to go to before he could come home and sleep. I hope I'll see him before too long, but I know he's tired. He was very sweet, and loaded the dishwasher and got Kaylee some breakfast this morning before going to bed. He knew last night was rough for me, with two girls who wouldn't sleep.

And I... I am sitting on the computer, because as much as I would like to nap while everyone else is sleeping, I cannot fall asleep. Story of my life! So instead, I am looking for a few good recipes to make in the next week or so, and making a shopping list for later tonight. I already have some chicken in the freezer that I am going to do in the (tiny) crockpot with my favorite bbq sauce and serve it up on some Dave's Killer Bread Blues Buns. I'm looking forward to that, as I've been craving it for a while, but haven't been shopping to get the bbq sauce. I'm thinking for dinner on Sunday. Yum!! I'm also planning on getting ingredients for making burritos to store in the freezer, as those were delicious last time we made them. I will be streamlining the assembly process this time, however, as it took too long last time. We had all the ingredients separated, and we made our own burritos as we each like different things. This time I think we'll mix all the rice, cilantro, lime, and chicken together, then Dale can add cheddar, and I can add peppers and refried beans, maybe spinach.

I'm looking forward to an evening spent with my (hopefully) well rested family, and a week of cooking and stocking the freezer with quick meals and leftovers. Time to go, Laurelei has decided it is no longer naptime :-)
